Search People CRM from your Chrome Browser
Adding People CRM as a search engine to Google Chrome makes searching your customer base super quick. It takes less than 2 minutes to set up but will save you a tremendous amount of time.
If you're already familiar with using the Google Chrome browser, you'll know that searching the web is as simple as typing your search into the address bar at the top of the page. However not many people know that you can leverage this same method to search other services too – such as People CRM.
How does this work?
In Chrome you can set up a custom search engine that tells Chrome to search People CRM, instead of just searching Google. Once you've set it up, Chrome uses a keyword to know when you want to use it.
In this example we've used the keyword gs (short for GoSquared). So when you type gs and press Tab, Chrome will search People CRM for you and will automatically load the results in GoSquared.
You can search for name, email address, company or pretty much anything else.
How to add People CRM as a Chrome search engine
It's pretty simple, just follow these steps:
Name the search engine. In this example we called it People CRM.
Set the keyword that you want use to tell Chrome to search People CRM instead of preforming a regular Google search. In this example we used the term gs because it's super quick to type.
Now you'll need to tell Chrome where it should be searching. This means you need to provide a special link to your People dashboard. Open GoSquared in a new tab and select the project/site that you want to search, then navigate to the People dashboard and make sure you're viewing the default Users group.
Copy the URL, it should look something like this:
Then paste it into Chrome search settings, and add :%s to the end of it. Like this:
Hit Add to save your settings – and you're done! Now whenever you type gs into the Chrome address bar, you can just hit Tab to search People CRM from wherever you are on the web.
